かつて「おたく」という言葉は人々が団結するための旗印になりえたかもしれない。しかし「キモオタ」という単語が発明され「おたく」の中にあって「キモオタ」でないものが「キモオタ」を踏み台にして団結することに利用された。ある種の社会問題を提起するために導入された「ニート」という言葉は有閑学生の遊び道具になってしまった。
